Free of charge STEPAM MOOC Course – An Opportunity to Enhance Teaching Practice through the STE(A)M Approach

The STE(PA)M project (STEPAM – Teacher Training in Physical Activities and Embodied Learning through STEAM Education, project number: 2023-1-RS01-KA220-HED-000166894) aims to improve the education system by integrating physical activity into the STEAM approach, thereby fostering the development of key student competencies such as critical thinking, creativity, and digital skills. The project will develop practical educational materials, including a handbook with 36 examples, a scientific publication, and an e-learning platform to ensure wide applicability and sustainability of the model. A particular focus is placed on empowering teachers and promoting the STE(PA)M approach at both national and international levels. The project is coordinated by the University of Kragujevac, in partnership with institutions from Finland and Austria.

The Faculty of Education in Jagodina, University of Kragujevac, in cooperation with Johannes Kepler University (Linz, Austria) and the Finnish Institute for Educational Research (Jyväskylä, Finland), is implementing the STEPAM MOOC course as a joint initiative aimed at improving teaching practice.

This course represents an excellent opportunity for teachers’ professional development, in line with contemporary European educational trends and practices. It focuses on integrating physical activity into STE(A)M education through modern and innovative approaches in working with students. Special emphasis is placed on developing teachers’ competencies for creating dynamic and interactive learning environments.

During the course, participants will also have the opportunity to explore the capabilities of the GeoGebra platform as an important tool for supporting teaching and developing interactive educational content.
