Presentation of Preliminary GENCILAR Project Results at the 12th Spring Cardiology Workshop in Kopaonik

The GENCILAR project is funded by the Center for Scientific Research of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the University of Kragujevac through their Young Researchers Support Program.

Members of the project team Genetics of Cilantro Taste Perception and Cardiovascular Risk presented preliminary research findings at the 12th Spring Cardiology Workshop, held in Kopaonik, Serbia, from 16th to 19th April 2026. The results were presented by the project participant Dr. Neda Ćićarić.

The first findings presented at the meeting indicate that the perception of cilantro’s soapy taste is associated with lipid profile and that this sensory trait could serve as a novel indicator of cardiovascular risk.

The presentation of these preliminary results contributed to promoting the GENCILAR project and establishing new scientific collaborations in the field of cardiovascular research.
